Easter 2014

Today was Camden's first Easter. Like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny doesn't visit our house but we still had a wonderful day celebrating family and the resurrection of our Savior.

We decided to still do baskets and an egg hunt, but starting next year we'll do those festivities on Saturday so Sunday can be focused on what's really important.

He got a few things for summer

I couldn't get him to smile in his new Sunday outfit! He was tired and was too  interested in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

After lunch and naptime we set out his plastic eggs and let him find them. He even put some of them back in his basket(:

We filled them with his favorite snack- goldfish!

For Easter dinner our family made deviled eggs out of our dyed eggs

and yummy fruit tarts for dessert!

Camden thought it was yummy too!

We missed the Henderson side, but we hope to see them soon!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Fun at the zoo

On Matt's day off we decided to take the girls I nanny to the zoo. We took them to Point Defiance in Tacoma last year so we decided to go somewhere different this time. I liked Woodland Zoo in Seattle much better. There's more exhibits and animals. It's bigger which meant more waking for little ones, but there were things along the way to keep them entertained.

I wish I would've gotten more pictures! But this was our day.

The little otters are the cutest! I loved watching them play.

When I was a kid the farm was my favorite part. The petting zoo here was closed unfortunately until May, but there were still some things to do. Like milking a cow.

Camden wasn't a big fan of the stroller. He wanted to get down and play! But he was content with daddy holding him. He really liked watching the orangutans. Other than that he was either eating or sleeping until towards the end.

This little monkey was just perched up on this rock staring at everyone. Some of the animals weren't out because it was too cold. Of the ones that were a lot of them were sleeping which is always a bummer.

Avelyn was obsessed with all these animal statues. She wanted a picture with every single one! Lol Brennah was content in the stroller most of the time. She would walk a little bit then climb right back in. It was fun watching how excited they both got when they saw an animal they liked. I love the zoo!

10 months

Our little ray of sunshine turned 10 months old today!

We have loved watching his personality come out! He is constantly on the go and doesn't have much fear. He loves to climb anything and everything. His new favorite thing has been going outside, bubbles, and watching butterflies.

He's starting to listen now which is such a relief! He helps pick up toys, gets off of things, and is understanding no. He's getting smart as well when it comes to problem solving. It's amazing to see how quickly he finds a solution to things (which also leads to headaches for mommy and daddy sometimes).

While we do have our hands full with him, we love every minute of it. We're so excited to see his future firsts and celebrate with him! We love you, bubba!

It's a girl!

No, no I'm not pregnant. But my best friend is! I'm so excited for her, Brian, and little Luke.

She's the best. No, seriously. She brings so much light into my life and I'm so grateful I met her. She's so sweet and caring. I'm grateful she was there 100% throughout my pregnancy and listened to a frightened first time mother. I love you, Tay!

They had a gender reveal tonight and it was so much fun. I knew they both wanted a girl so I crossed my fingers for them. She's going to be so spoiled!

Pinterest win!

The look on Brian's face is priceless!

Aren't they the cutest!? Congratulations again!

Come, Listen To A Prophet's Voice!

This weekend is a wonderful opportunity for us to hear the word of The Lord. There is so much hope, love, and comfort spoken by the Prophet and the Apostles. After watching one of the sessions this morning, I feel the love of our Savior and even more love for my family.

Camden was such a good boy this morning! He sat through the first ten minutes quietly on the couch and stared at the tv while the choir sang (that's his favorite part. He loves hymns!), a prayer was given, and President Monson spoke. Afterwards, he got restless and decided it was time to quietly play with his Legos.

The messages that were spoken were beautiful and powerful. I especially enjoyed Elder Holland's talk. How true it was! It made me even more grateful to be a dedicated and converted follower of Christ. I would give my life before I denied the truth of this gospel or my Savior.

I was surprised no new temples were announced, but having almost 170 temples operating world wide is such a blessing! It gives me so much joy as I see these beautiful buildings built so those who are worthy may enjoy the blessings it brings and to help their loved ones who have gone on before. What a wonderful time we live in!

Matt was able to join us for the morning session before he left for work. How grateful I am for his hard work for our family! Camden has become quite the daddy's boy lately. I love seeing these two together. I'm so grateful we're sealed for eternity and never have to worry about "until death do us part".

There are three more sessions of conference to be enjoyed: this afternoon, Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon with a priesthood session this evening. Everyone is invited to listen and feel of the spirit regardless if you are a member of the church or not! It's available at LDS buildings, www.lds.org, the radio (although I'm not sure what station), and the BYU channel on tv. So come! And listen to a prophet's voice. Your life will be changed for the better!
